The Mercury Stray Cats was formed in 1993 to enjoy the 1967-73 Mercury Cougar automobile. We have members from all over the United States and several other nations, though our activities are based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We have over 100 members and hold monthly meetings to discuss club business, technical issues, and to plan club activities. Our annual events include a joint car show and Fall club outing, as well as occasional technical workshops. We often attend other car shows in Northern California (and elsewhere) as a group.

Ownership of a Mercury Cougar is not a prerequisite to joining The Stray Cats; an interest in Cougars from this era is. We publish a monthly newsletter which includes a calendar of upcoming events of automotive interest, technical tips, want ads, and other Cougar-related information.
